NEW! The Art & Science of
Reading People
A Beginner Guide to
Neuro-Linguistic Programming
Imagine how it would feel to have a deep
understanding of how the people in your
life operate. What words would work magic
with them? Discover Neuro Linguistic
Programming (NLP), the study of how
words and their associations become your
unconscious “programming” and create
your behavior. Learn the 10 presuppositions
of NLP that describe people’s underlying
beliefs. Discuss meta programming and see
how we “chunk” or process information.
Learn anchor dissolving techniques to help
you dispel automatic or habitual responses.
Leave with an understanding of how to
avoid conflicts by seeing directly into the
heart of people and situations.
Mark West
has experience in IT and engineering and
has always been fascinated by how things
work. For over 25 years, he’s applied that
curiosity to understanding how people
work as he has studied and become a NLP
master practitioner. Mark is also active in
Toastmasters and loves to teach others new
ideas.

Public Speaking
The Un-Workshop
There is no “right” way to give a
presentation or a speech, nor is there a
“recipe” for becoming a great speaker. But
there are great tips and skills you can learn
to create your own genuine, authentic style
that will boost your confidence and make
your presentation shine. Learn and practice
a series of valuable vocal warm-ups and
breathing techniques that help you relax,
control volume, and clearly articulate. We’ll
address stage fright (and why some anxiety
can actually be helpful!), monitor pause
fillers, and discover effective methods to
engage your audience. Finally, we’ll get into
some nitty-gritty on content and delivery:
storytelling, repetition, preparation, and
the do’s and don’ts of visual aids including
the ever-popular but often misused
PowerPoint.
