he Friends of Margaret Reed Crosby Memo-
rial Library enjoy the huge resource we have
in Pearl River County ,that are our Senior
Citizens. The knowledge , available
resources, and just plain man or woman
power that is invested in these folks is awesome. They have
the time, knowledge, fresh ideas, networking connections and
funds to help our Library achieve the huge potential that it
deserves. Not every member of the Friends of the Crosby
Library are Seniors, but a very large number are. The Friend's
Programs, Brown bag Book Reviews, Book Sale, Volunteering
at the Library, and a variety of Fund Raisers are a wonderful
way to gain knowledge, have fun, help the Library and make
wonderful new friends and see old ones. At the Library front
desk , it costs just $5.00 to become a member for a year.
In November , The Friends had a wonderful informational
program about “Getting Ready for the Old Folks”. There
were 22 different presenters that were available to give very
important information to Boomers and their Parents about
preparing for what is coming up in the future years. The
agencies, businesses, and individuals that contributed were
very knowledgeable and happy to share their expertise on a
huge variety of subjects. A list
of the presenters and their
contact numbers are available
in the Crosby Library. A
number of attendees have been
visiting the presenters on the
list in order to be better
prepared for the future.
Advance preparation is a great
deal like packing a suitcase to go
on a trip, a lot of work, but a
well packed suitcase can avoid
many problems later on.
The New Year has many
exciting adventures waiting in
the wings at the Library.
