Jewelry Making with
Polymer Clay
Polymer clay is a versatile, easy-to-use,
inexpensive material that lends itself to
the creation of jewelry, tiles, figures, and
more. Though inexpensive, polymer clay
can be easily manipulated to replicate
precious metals, including gold, silver,
and bronze, and to mimic stones, such as
ivory, turquoise, amber and more. Once
you learn the basics of conditioning,
molding/shaping, and curing, you are well
on your way to clay artistry, and the sky
is the limit on the pieces you can create.
Join local artist and professional
Christina
Abel
for an introduction to polymer clay.
Christina began her work with polymer clay
in a 40-hour seminar in polymer clay art
at La Cascade in Dufort, France and has
continued her study locally. She is eager to
share this fun, accessible medium with you.
Leave class with a completed jewelry piece
as well as the material to continue your
experimentation at home.

Digital Photography
Workshop
Become a More Confident
Photographer
You have a digital SLR camera and want
to get the best pictures you can. This
hands-on workshop starts with the basics,
such as how a camera works; the meaning
of terms like F-stop, exposure metering
and histograms; the five elements of a
great photograph; and what operations
create specific photographic images. In
addition to camera work, the workshop
introduces essential photo editing skills
needed to create the best image. You’ll
have homework each week so that you can
apply the tips and techniques covered in
class. In the final week, the instructor will
demonstrate lighting techniques and give
students the opportunity to practice with a
model.
Deb Rohr

We will uncover the exposure modes of
your camera and learn what’s hidden inside
the layers of menus, from basic features
like time and date to intermediate features
like setting white balance and controlling
