millennia. In just one day, try your hand-or

breathing exercise and the lip buzz used
to make the instrument’s characteristic
droning sound. Then modify your drone
with simple mouth movements. Playing
the didgeridoo is fun, meditative, and
often recommended by doctors to ease the
symptoms of sleep apnea.

Vinyl Revival
Digitize & Enjoy Your Records
Once Again
Vinyl records have made a huge comeback,
mainly because they sound terrific. Besides,
lots of people have a box (or ten) of old
records gathering dust, and sometimes
an old turntable too. Learn how you can
affordably (usually <$250) digitize your
old vinyl so you can once again enjoy their
gorgeous sound on your iPod or other digital
listening devices. See a demonstration
of what equipment is needed to connect
a turntable to your computer, how to use
software to capture files, how to add song
titles and tracks, and how to transfer files
to your computer. Along the way, you’ll
learn how to get the best sound out of your
recordings. Bring a record for a hands-on
cleaning demonstration.
Charlie Snyder
, a
freelance cinematographer and filmmaker,
is a lifelong audio enthusiast and member
of the Colorado Audio Society. He never
stopped playing his records, and is excited
to show others how to begin enjoying their
record collections again.

Do You Have What It Takes?
Discover how to break into voice-over and
market your voice talents. Topics include:
union work versus non-union; commercials
for TV/radio, narration, audio books and
animation voicing; and talent agents and
managers. You’ll work in front of a mic
and “cold read” two commercial spots,
followed by critical feedback.

(SAG & AFTRA) has four decades of stage
and film credits as actor, director, producer.
He taught conservatory acting at Cornell
University. He created Denver’s The Acting

Voice-Over Intensive
Make Money in Voice-Over
This intensive workshop prepares you to
break into the voice-over industry. Begin
with techniques in voice speech dynamics
and warm-ups. Then, look at how to create
your demo website of samples of your
voice work to get your foot in the door of
this potentially lucrative industry. What
equipment do you need to build your home
voice-over studio? You’ll rehearse and record
a range of “copy”-TV/radio commercials,
infomercials, and samples of narration,
audio-books and animation. Receive (by
email) MP3s of your four studio sessions.
Learn mic technique, interpretation and
characterization, and how to get your
demo produced. Be ready to work hard,
do homework, and get detailed critiques
of your strengths and weaknesses.
Bill
Smith
, director of The Acting Studio, works
in stage, screen and broadcast (for over 40
years). He was certified as a master teacher
by Arthur Lessac, the renowned innovator of
a voice and speech system for stage, film,
