Architecture and interior

MW Golden Constructors has
started work on the city and
county of Denver’s new fire
training simulator.
The six-story steel tower will be
built alongside an existing five-
story training tower and will be
connected at the third and fifth
levels. The new enclosed tower
includes training features such as
a burn room, a residential train-
ing room and an industrial train-
ing room.
The residential and industri-
al training rooms allow the fire
department to simulate condi-
tions fire fighters experience in
the field.
The $1.4 million project is
expected to be complete in April.
The design-build team includes
WHP Training Towers, a provid-
er of metal fire training towers.
JVA Consulting Engineers and
Keenan Consulting Group are
providingengineeringservices.

Calcon starts Boulder Jewish Community Center
Calcon Constructors recently began work on the new Boulder Jewish Community Center. The 52,000-square-foot facility will house a gymnasium, community hall and early child care
center. Construction is expected to be complete in March 2016.
Catamount Constructors
recently completed its third
senior living facility for Spec-
trum Retirement Communi-
ties.
Cresent Park, designed by
Vessel Architecture, is a $13.6
million senior living facility
located in Eugene, Oregon.
The project comprises 60
assisted living units, 10 inde-
pendent care units and 17
memory care units. Ameni-
ties for residents include com-
munity rooms with kitchens,
a movie theater and reading
lounges.
Additionally, Catamount
recently broke ground on
Hilliard, a $12.1 million,
87,000-square-foot facility in
Hilliard, Ohio. The commu-
nity comprises 75 assisted liv-
ing units and 25 memory care
units. Amenities include com-
munity rooms, a library with
a business center and lounges.
The property is slated to open
in November.

Jordy Construction has com-
pleted the framing for the bridal
sales building, laid foundations
and piping for the annex addi-
tion and reframed all walls in
the existing annex as part of the
enhancement of Littleton’s his-
toric Raccoon Creek property.
Additionally, footers and
piers are being established in
the cart barn and metal building
is in progress.
The new wedding and event
venue, The Barn at Raccoon
Creek, is expected to be com-
plete in May.

Adolfson & Peterson Construc-
tion completed the 70,000-square-
foot prekindergarten through
12th grade school for the Otis
School District, 40 miles east of
Fort Morgan, near the Nebraska
and Kansas state borders.
Funded through the Building
Excellent Schools Today pro-
gram, the $19 million PK-12 facil-
ity replaces and consolidates the
previously separated elementary,
junior and high school buildings
into a streamlined and sustain-
able facility offering students a
state-of-the-art learning environ-
ment for generations to come.
An existing preschool, built in
2009 as an addition to the current
elementary school, will remain
and be incorporated into the new
building, located at 518 Dungan
St. in Otis.
Paul Davis, president Otis
School Board of Directors, dur-
ing a ribbon-cutting ceremony
for the facility, thanked the
Design Advisory Group, current
and past school board members,
the school administration and the
BEST grant staff for thousands of
hours dedicated to the new proj-
ect and for their work on the “the
most technologically advanced
school in northeast Colorado.”

commitment to the Otis com-
munity and are happy for their
new place to call home,” said
Tom Stone, project executive for
A&P.

W.E. O’Neil breaks ground on Rush Truck Center facility
W.E. O’Neil recently broke
ground on Rush Enterprises
Inc.’s new Commerce City facil-
ity.
Located at 6955 E. 50th Ave.,
the Rush Truck Center will be
a three-building, 15-plus-acre
Peterbilt Ford Truck sales and
leasing center.
The project will total 125,433
square feet, including an 83,392-
sf service building, 24,541-sf
body shop building and 17,500-
sf sales/service facility.
Rush officials anticipate at
minimum 30 permanent jobs
will come out of the center with-
in two years.
