Resumes, reference letters, portfolios, cover let-
ters, chronological format, or skill format? It’s a
lot to chew on, especially if it’s your first time
entering into the world of job hunting. Enjoy a
slice while we review what it all means, and
how to use free library resources to polish
your qualifications and show how bright you
can shine. The pizza will be served and the
presentation starts at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, June

On the first Thursdays of each
month, teens are invited to come
explore topics and resources for
aspiring visual artists from 5:30-
6:30 p.m. at Fortson Public Library.
Whether your interest is cartooning,
illustration, realism, or just chilling
out by creating, this monthly event
will be continuing through the sum-
mer. Each month, the focus is on
trading tips and exploring resources
on different drawing topics. June 1st
we will focus on “clear things” like
water, ice, and glass. July 6th the
topic is “light” where we will
explore everything from fireworks,
lasers, and glow bugs. Pencils and
paper will be provided.

Getting out on the road as a first-time
driver can be overwhelming. Sure,
everyone knows the basics like “don’t
text and drive” and “red means stop.”
What about the less common scenarios?
Come discover the resources HCLS
offers directly related to car owners
through Gale and
ChiltonLibrary.com.Hear what representatives from Delta
Community Credit Union have to say
about auto financing and car purchas-
ing. Learn directly from a City of
Hampton Police Officer what you
should do if you get pulled over or into
a fender bender. Finally, learn from a
local mechanic the basics of how com-
mon maintenance tasks, like changing
tires, checking fluids, and jumping off a
car, should be performed to keep your-
self safe. Beginner drivers are invited to
Fortson Public Library on Thursday,
June 8th at 1:30 p.m. to get their brains
greased up and ready for the road.
