Doc Atoms is the wacky “Mad Scientist” who loves to make
science fun for all ages. Want to learn how and why thing
go BOOM? Visit the McDonough Library this summer to
experience fun, hands-on, wild and crazy science experi-
ments. Doc Atoms will have the entire room laughing and
learning about science! He will present one program for chil-
dren, tweens, and their parents on July 21 at 2:00 p.m.
Following that program, he will present his “Doc Atoms
Robot Petting Zoo” for teens at 3:30 p.m. Sign-up required.
Bio-Bus Visits the
McDonough Library
Dave Holland is one of Atlanta’s
most regarded figures in rhythm-
based facilitation, world percussion
and teaching artistry. This high-ener-
gy performance and STEM-powered
program explores natural and recy-
cled materials and how they are uti-
lized to construct one of a kind
instruments. The program also places
an emphasis on design, construction
and artistic creativity as the audience
experiences how raw resources are
crafted to create music! Dave
inspires the children to use their own
creativity and imagination to design

McDonough Library kicks off the summer
with Todd Key’s Cirque du Todd Show
Crazy juggling, stunts and balancing, amazing feats of skill, sound like fun?
Kids, tweens, and teens will kick off the summer reading program with Todd
Key’s Cirque du Todd Show June 1st at 2:00 p.m. This wacky, witty, one-of-
a-kind performance combines juggling, circus skills, a little magic, and just
the right mix of comedy and reading encouragement for kids of all ages. If
you have been lucky enough to see him perform in the past, you know what
a great performer he is. Attention children, tweens, and teens if you have
never seen Todd Key in action, you are in for a really big treat. Fun for all!

African "Freestyle" Storyteller Babatunde pres-
ents:” Kweku's Journeys in Connecting Worlds”.
With only a drum and his imagination, Babatunde
creates an awe-inspiring experience that will not be
forgotten. Babatunde uses singing, dancing, music
and of course storytelling to present this program. His
stories also highlight the importance of having strong
values and morals. From 2-100 year olds,
Babatunde’s stories transcend all ages. Join us June
16 at 11:00 a.m. at the McDonough Public Library.
This program is for families or indi-
viduals to visit different locations (in
Henry County) listed in your passport.
The goal of the program is to expand
your knowledge and participation with-
in the community. As you visit different
locations, you will have them marked
off in your passport booklet either by an
employee at the location or by showing
a selfie from the location to library staff.
You may request your passport from
the McDonough or Locust Grove Library
Branch. Return the completed passport
and receive a prize.
Celebrate reading with Fiddlin’ Dan
Have you ever wondered what it is like at the library after hours? Then this is the pro-
gram for you. The object is to survive the zombie horde Nerf gun style. Upon arrival,
library staff will select the zombies. Your mission on June 2 at 7:00 p.m. is to find items
to complete a first aid kit from around the library, scavenger-hunt style. The kit will
then need to make it to the safe zone. This program is for teens ages 12 and up. Please
bring your own nerf gun and ammo will be provided. Registration is required!

ing bio facts from around the world.
Environmental educator Robin Pressley-Keough
will present her Animal Adventures program for
children age 3 to 17. She will share fascinating
facts about the food chain, endangerment, habi-
tats and adaptations of many different kinds of
animals. Let Animal Adventures bring science to life!

as he makes music, tells stories,
and shares Appalachian mountain
lore. He involves his audience in a
rollicking good time from begin-
ning to end! His program includes
interactive songs and stories,
homespun humor and a grand
finale jug band! Fiddlin’ Dan, aka
Reuben Haller has been entertain-
ing for well over 30 years; this is
his 12th year traveling to libraries
performing as the “acclaimed”
Fiddlin’ Dan, the Mountain Man;
entertaining children and their par-
ents all over Georgia.

The Georgia State University’s Bio-Bus program is a mobile
science laboratory that presents hands-on science activities for
children and teens. On June 30th , the Bio-Bus will present
“Heart and Your Health” program 11 a.m.-12 p.m. for children
ages 7-12, and for teens 12-17 year olds from 2-3 p.m.. Children,
teens, and their adults will be introduced to the basic anatomy
and function of the mammalian heart and circulatory system.
The high point of this program is the opportunity to handle a
preserved cow heart. Signups are required to attend.
