My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
During my seven years as Bishop of Biloxi,
I have had the privilege of ordaining nine men
to the priesthood and incardinating three priests
who had previously ministered outside the
diocese. There are currently 16 retired priests in
our diocese and several others who are nearing
retirement age.
We currently have six seminarians studying for the Diocese of
Biloxi, including four at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans and two
at Saints Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Orchard Lake. Half of our
seminarians are from Poland and the other half are local men from the
Biloxi area, including Deacon Colten Symmes, who will be ordained to
the priesthood next summer.
We need more good men, who are willing to answer God’s call to
pursue ministerial priesthood, in service to the Roman Catholic Church
for the Diocese of Biloxi.
The annual cost for an individual seminarian’s formation is $40,000.
Considering that the formation process can take as much as eight years,
the total cost of one seminarian’s formation can exceed $300,000.

a monetary donation to a Catholic entity of his or her own choosing.

formation program, to help educate those men who have answered God’s
call to priestly service in our diocese and to provide for the spiritual
