Parishes are inviting people to come back
to church the weekend of Sept. 17 and
18. In these trying times of the world we
live in today, returning to Church may
inspire your faith! If you are a practic-
ing Catholic, you can make a difference
in someone’s life by inviting them to
come back home to their Catholic faith.
Mass times for Our Mother of Sorrows
are 5:30 pm on Saturday and 10:30 am
on Sunday. Mass times at Blessed See-
los are 4 pm on Saturday and 9 am on

Eucharistic Fire
GULFPORT -- Eucha-
ristic Fire is coming to St.
John the Evangelist and St.
James Parishes.
Father Jeff Eppler, a
member of the Society of
Our Lady of the Most Holy
Trinity (SOLT) will be the presenter.
Father Eppler will celebrate Mass at
St. John the Evangelist Church, 2414
17th Street, on Friday, Sept. 30 at 6 pm.

GULFPORT -- The Annual Parish
Drawdown and Silent Auction is sched-
uled for Saturday, Nov. 12, in Presenta-
tion Hall. The doors will open at 6 pm
and the drawdown will start at 6:30 pm.
There will be delicious food and drink
available for everyone. The tickets are
$100 and will admit four people. Tickets
are now available in the parish office, lo-
cated at 2414 17th Street, which is open
Monday-Friday from 10 am-5 pm. For

Father Eppler grew up Methodist
and converted to Catholicism in 1992
at the Missouri State University New-
man Center while studying graphic de-
sign. He recognized his call from God to
the priesthood and studied theology for
four years in Manila, Philippines, with
a fledgling group called Missionaries of
the Blessed Sacrament. After seminary,
Father Jeff spent the next two years es-
tablishing Perpetual Eucharistic Adora-
tion in over 20 parishes.
