the last 10 years (through 2014)
Jeffco EDC has tracked a total of
17,304 newly created and retained
jobs. The new capital investment
from these businesses for the same
period is more than $1.8 billion
dollars.
So what does Jefferson County

42% of resident have a bachelor’s
degree or higher.
• Jeffco’s K-12 schools are
nationally recognized for

along with Red Rocks Community
College, Colorado Christian
University, Rocky Mountain
College of Art and Design, and
Arapahoe and Front Range

as Lockheed Martin, MillerCoors,
CoorsTek, Ball Corporation,
Coleman, and Terumo BCT,
which help form diverse industry
clusters within the County.
• The County is known as a
high-tech leader and is supported
by two internationally acclaimed
institutions – National Renewable
Energy Laboratory (NREL) and
Colorado School of Mines.
• Businesses enjoy a pro-business
climate with low state taxes and
business incentives.
• Strategically located, Jefferson
County offers ease of access to
major arterials including the
Regional Transportation District’s

travel at Rocky Mountain
Metropolitan Airport (RMMA).

continuing to grow as well.

Jefferson County embodies the
Colorado outdoor lifestyle. It’s
nationally acclaimed Open Space
Program supports this lifestyle for
all types with more than 212,000
acres of public land designated for
recreation.
Recently, Jefferson County is
seeing a dramatic rise in business
activity.
•
3DSystems,
an engineering
company specializing in medical
models for reconstructive surgical
problems, is expanding into a
70,000-sf build-to-suit (Ojala &
Co.) in unincorporated Jefferson
County. The project is estimated to
bring up to 130 high-paying jobs
and over $1 million in new capital
investment to the county.
•
MountainToadBrewing,
located
in Golden, announced plans to
build “Toad Mesa,” a 21,000-sf
production and packaging facility
in the Coors Technology Center.
The facility will also include a small
tasting room and beer garden.
The project will bring 10 jobs and
$800,000 in new capital investment
to Jefferson County.
•
Pat’s BackcountryBeverages
is
expanding in Wheat Ridge into
a 17,300-sf facility, allowing the
company to more than double its
employment base. The company
develops microbrew concentrates
and portable beverage carbonators
for backpacking.
•
PremiumPanels,
located
in Arvada, is expanding into a
30,000-sf facility. The expansion
will allow the company to double
their workforce to more than 30
employees. Premium Panels is a
metal roofing manufacturer and
installation company.
•
ReedGroup,
a provider of
products and services to manage
employee leaves and absences,
expanded into its new 65,000-
sf facility in the Westmoor
Technology Park, located in
Westminster. The company
currently has 442 employees with
plans to hire more in 2015.
•
RockyMountainChildren’s
HealthFoundation
is relocating
its operations fromDenver to
Arvada. The new 14,750-sf facility
will also house a breast milk bank.
The project brings 24 jobs and
$500,000 of new capital investment
to the county.
•
Spyderco
expanded into its
new 42,000-sf facility in Golden
and will create up to 40 new
jobs over the next couple of
years. The company is a leading
manufacturer of cutlery.
•
TerumoBCT,
a global leader
in medical device manufacturing,
unveiled its new 125,000-sf
global headquarters building in
Lakewood. The expansion project
brings more than 300 jobs and
$45 million in capital investment.

with the City of Lakewood
Economic Development on the
expansion project.
