quality and the first-class amenities exemplified by the
Gables Residential brand, Landry said. For example, the
building’s showstopper is the eighth-floor amenity deck
with an outdoor pool, kitchen and common areas, pro-
viding breathtaking views of the Front Range and down-
town. Other features, such as a state-of-the-art fitness cen-
ter, yoga studio and media room, serve as extended space
where residents can live, work, play and entertain.
Semple Brown provided interior design services for
the main-floor lobby, eighth-floor amenity areas and the
apartment units. The Denver firm was selected for its di-
verse experience and specialized expertise in creating ac-
tive public spaces, such as cultural venues, restaurants and
hospitality projects. Gables and SmithJones were interest-
ed in an interior design that reflected a contemporary
layered and distinctly Colorado aesthetic, according to
Semple Brown Principal Mary Kay Sunset, LEED, AP ID+C.
“The main-floor lobby has a large two-story entry. To
make the space feel inviting and warm, our team included
deep walnut slatted walls and an end grain mesquite floor.
The buff sandstone fireplace, with architectural wood lid,
is the focal point in the gathering area for the residents.
A custom metal and glass light fixture is highlighted by
a backdrop of a two-story hot-rolled steel paneled wall,”
Sunset says.
“The signature feature of the amenity level is the view;
captured by an expanse of large windows and operable
sliding glass walls, which allow the residents a seamless
connection to the indoor/outdoor venues. The interior
finish palette reflects similar materials from the architec-
ture of the building and the Colorado landscape,” she adds.
Ultimately, the overall quality of Gables Cherry Creek
will appeal to residents looking for an unmatched living
experience in a vibrant neighborhood in which dining,
shopping and recreational opportunities are within an
easy walk, Landry says.
Other Gables Cherry Creek highlights include electric
car charging stations as well as a Bronze rating from the
National Green Building Standard.
“Gables works hard to provide a premium living envi-
ronment both in the quality of our product and the entire
hospitality experience,” he notes. “We believe that embrac-
ing the experience right will pay long-term dividends in
both resident satisfaction and overall value creation.”
With four projects underway or in the preconstruction
phase, Gables Residential is bullish on Denver.
“We look forward to a long-term presence here,” Landry
says. “We continue to like the Denver market fundamen-
tals and are evaluating other opportunities as they make
financial sense.”
