Lucas Mallory, manager of PCL’s Special Projects Divi-
sion, says MOTO is just the type of housing that’s currently
in high demand in Denver. “This provides an opportuni-
ty to be near the city within easy commuting distance of
downtown but with more of a neighborhood feel,” he says
of MOTO’s location at the nexus of the Golden Triangle,
Governor’s Park and Capitol Hill.
“We’re looking at the millennials,” adds Seglie. “Those
people want to be located in a downtown area with a lot
of amenities and they don’t necessarily value a great deal
of space.”
The first tenants moved into the building in September
but it wasn’t without its challenges. Right as the building
framing and exterior skin were being installed, the “mon-
umentally” wet spring hit. “It was literally a perfect storm
that threatened the scheduling of the project,” says Meu-
nier.
But the team persevered. Framing was modularized and
completed in April and the exterior skin went on in May.
“We ended up within one day of when we said we were
going to finish it,” says Meunier.
