Richman-Ascension Develop-
ment retained Davis Partner-
ship Architects to design a new
LEED Silver certified apartment
project. The three-building, 273-
unit development is located at
28th Avenue and Vallejo Street,
on the former site of Denver
Public Schools’ Contemporary
Learning Academy. The devel-
opment, known as Infinity
LoHi, will be within two blocks
of some of Denver’s hottest new
restaurants and bars in LoHi,
with easy walking access to Riv-
erfront Park and Lower Down-
town.
The largest of the three build-
ings is located on the southern
parcel, with expansive views
of downtown. This building is
situated on a sloping site and its
height varies from five to six sto-
ries. On the northern blocks, two
separate buildings ranging from
three to four stories in height
will step down in elevation to
create a building scale sensitive
to the adjacent residential neigh-
borhood. The buildings align
with street frontages to create
a consistent form and rhythm
compatible with the urban con-
text.
Each building will have its
own below-grade parking, with
common access to the main
amenities courtyard located on
the larger site. Amenity features
include anoutdoor pool, hot tub,
fire pits, water features, built-
in seating, landscape planters
and gas grills. Indoor amenities
include a leasing office, confer-
ence room, fitness, yoga room,
bar/lounge, and common coffee
bar with open seating areas.
The first phase of construc-
tion is expected to be complete
by summer 2017. Davis Partner-
ship is providing architecture,
landscape architecture, interior
design, lighting design and sig-
nage design services for the
project. Milender White is the
general contractor.
Another Davis Partnership
project is underway, the 60-unit
supportive housing/multifam-
ily residential building for the
Mental Health Center of Den-
ver. The 50,400-square-foot resi-
dential building is based on the
housing-first model and targets
chronically homeless individu-
als. Denueve Construction is the
general contractor. The project
is designed to create a nurturing
and healing environment while
utilizing the principles of trau-
ma informed care. Wider-than-
typical hallways with views to
the exterior landscape, natu-
ral light, multiple and varied
sightlines, spaces to meet, talk,
retreat, contemplate, interact,
and commune offer a balance
to the efficient yet comfortable
425-sf dwelling units, according
to Joseph M. Lear, AIA, LEED
AP, associate principal, Davis
Partnership Architects.
The exterior landscape
including a resident’s garden,
safe courtyard and gazebo also
offers a variety of spaces and
activities to contribute to the
health and well-being of the
residents.
The construction cost is
$10.9 million and the building
is scheduled to open in June
2017.

Jeffco Public Schools and archi-
tect Hord Coplan Macht broke
ground for the new K-8 school at
Candelas in Arvada. This marks
Jeffco Public Schools’ first new
construction project in the past 10
years and will support the ongo-
ing growth of the area.
The new K-8 school at Cande-
las is being designed on a 10-acre
site and will be approximately
100,000 square feet. The school
will serve students from kinder-
garten through eighth grade in
the Candelas neighborhood in
Arvada. GH Phipps has been
selected as general contractor for
the project, estimated at $25 mil-
lion.
“We are thrilled to be work-
ing with Jeffco Public Schools
on the K-8 school at Candelas,”
said Adele Willson, principal,
Hord Coplan Macht. “It is being
designed as a neighborhood
school that will serve as a com-
munity amenity and a model for
future Jeffco schools with break-
out spaces for student collabora-
tion, a learning commons and
intentional connections to the
outdoors.”
The remaining 15-acre site
adjacent to the new school will
be considered for future devel-
opment, giving Jeffco Public
Schools flexibility for future pro-
grams and buildings.

“Downtown Boulder has
become an epicenter for entre-
preneurs and Crestone will
continue to play an integral
role in supporting the collec-
tive entrepreneurial communi-
ty,” said Crestone’s Ross Hol-
brook, director of real estate
and special projects. “Since the
majority of Crestone clients
are entrepreneurs, and Boul-
der has the highest ‘high-tech
density’ of any metro area in
the U.S., we wanted a space
that would serve both Cres-
tone and our collective net-

Kay Sunset at Semple Brown
to bring our vision to life.”
