Semple Brown designs Crestone Capital Advisors’ HQ

Semple Brown designed Boulder-based Crestone Capital Advisors’ new 17,867-square-foot headquarters space. The award-winning investment management and wealth advisory services firm will relocate from 1050 Walnut St. to Boulder’s new PearlWest Building at 1048 Pearl St., the former Boulder Daily Camera building.

The Nichols Partnership approached Crestone when it became available for redevelopment.

“Downtown Boulder has become an epicenter for entrepreneurs and Crestone will continue to play an integral role in supporting the collective entrepreneurial community,” said Crestone’s Ross Holbrook, director of real estate and special projects. “Since the majority of Crestone clients are entrepreneurs, and Boulder has the highest ‘high-tech density’ of any metro area in the U.S., we wanted a space that would serve both Crestone and our collective network, so we turned to Mary Kay Sunset at Semple Brown to bring our vision to life.”

To respond to Crestone’s high-net-worth clients’ expectations and their specialized needs, Semple Brown worked closely with the firm’s management to design a space that both raises the bar and surpasses expectations for how a wealth management company’s work environment can enhance its company culture. Crestone envisioned a center for networking and gathering for employees, clients, neighbors and the community at large. The new design was so successful at accomplishing this that a broader rebranding effort was catalyzed.

“This has been a fun project with a highly creative client,” said Sunset, principal at Semple Brown. “The opportunity to work with Crestone on fulfilling their vision has been an exciting one for our team. The design for this high-energy, community oriented space subtly enhances the company’s inclusive work culture, while showcasing Boulder’s spectacular mountain and city views.”

The space features a blend of full-height glass offices, open bench-style work areas and state-of-the-art meeting rooms designed to encourage daily collaboration. An open and inviting “gathering style” kitchen area with an operable glass wall opens onto a 2,000-sf rooftop terrace shaded with greenery, garden planters and an open trellis that serves as an alternate outdoor workspace for Crestone employees by day, and an enhanced entertainment venue and dining area for corporate partners and community events at night.

The contractor for Crestone’s new space is Arvada-based Sand Construction.
