Innovation – in a big way – is
set to arrive in River North.
Denver-based development
firm Koelbel and Co. and
health care entrepreneur Mike
Biselli recently partnered for
the development of Catalyst, a
health technology innovation
campus, which at build-out is
expected to reach at least a
half-million square feet.
Currently, Koelbel and Co.
and Biselli are in talks with
tenants for around 150,000 sf of
the initial 300,000-sf building
at a yet-to-be announced site
in RiNo.
A second phase of 200,000 to
300,000 sf is anticipated with
potential to grow even larger,
noted Dean Koelbel, a partner
with Catalyst.
The campus, which could
take up multiple city blocks, is
part of a larger vision of mak-
ing Colorado the top digital
health cluster in the nation by
2020, noted Biselli.
“Is it an audacious goal?
Absolutely. Achievable? You
bet,” said Biselli.
“The attention and inter-
est I continue to receive from
national leading health care
providers, payers, technol-
ogy companies/startups, aca-
demia, as well as political lead-
ers has been incredible and is
a testament to what all of us
are creating,” he added. “It’s
now time for our community
to further elevate Colorado’s
position as a leading state for
innovation and opportunity.”
Catalyst will offer space for a
35,000-sf anchor to a one-man,
one-desk operation for tenants
such as innovators in wearable
health technology, IT depart-
ments for insurance companies
and venture capitalists.
“We are wanting to bring
the biggest of the big,” added
Biselli.
