IREM Greater Denver

receives innovation award

The IREM Greater Denver

Chapter received the IREM

Award for Innovation in recog-

nition of the chapter’s luncheon

entitled “Work Life Empower-

ment Series.” The award was

announced at the Institute of Real

Estate Management Leadership

and Legislative Summit in Wash-

ington, D.C.

In 2014, the Award for Innova-

tion was introduced by IREM in

order to acknowledge innovative

ideas, celebrate chapter accom-

plishments, and educate all chap-

ters on outstanding programs

and initiatives.

The 2014 empowerment series

slate of speakers included Jerry

Schemmel (voice of the Rockies),

Susie Wargin (Channel 9 sports

anchor), Tricia Downing and

Brandi Duncan. Denver mem-

bers and guests said they make

the lunches a priority because the

luncheons are an escape from the

mundane and an opportunity to

rethink priorities.

The Denver chapter said the

2015 luncheon series is maintain-

ing the attraction. The luncheons

are held at Del Frisco’s Steak

House, which restricts atten-

dance to about 70, making the

lunch a more intimate setting.

provided. Volunteers of all skill

sets are needed, and volunteers

can sign up to work the whole

day or for particular time slots.

IFMA is also accepting donated

materials.

All IFMAmemberswhodonate

time or materials will be entered

to win one of two pairs of Bronco

tickets (against the New England

Patriots and the Green Bay Pack-

ers), which will be raffled off at

the IFMAMay luncheon.

customer service awards

oper and acquirer, announced it

received the 2014 National Mul-

tifamily Customer Service Award

for Excellence from CEL & Asso-

mance solutions company. The

award was presented to RedPeak

based on the company’s “high-

est level of quality and service to

residents,” resulting in the Best in

Industry ranking in 2014.

The company also received a

national Resident Satisfaction

award from SatisFacts, the apart-

ment industry’s retention and

reputation management author-

ity. RedPeak earned the recogni-

tion for its portfolio.

“Providing outstanding cus-

tomer service to our residents is

a top priority at RedPeak, and

it’s an honor to be recognized by

a national, multifamily industry

organization in this way,” Red-

Peak’s Mark Windhager said of

the customer service award. “The

award helps to validate the mea-

sures we go to every day in order

to make sure the people who live

in our apartment communities

are receiving the very best service

possible.”

Of the nearly 300 management

companies working with Satis-

Facts, the winners achieved high

levels of satisfaction due to their

focus on delivering an outstand-

“The 40,967-square-foot prop-

erty is located in theGarden of the

Gods corridor, where we manage

five other buildings totaling over

400,000 square feet,” said Rick

Davidson, CPM, senior vice pres-

ident of Griffis/Blessing Com-

mercial Property Services. “Hav-

ing a concentration of business in

this area affords the management

team to be more productive and

things we may be tempted to

say. We should develop the

habit of stopping and reflect-

ing before anything comes out

of our mouths. And we should

never do, write or say any-

thing that we will later regret.

I have found it best to smother

to death whatever is bothering

me until it is gone from me.

No good comes from letting off

steam.

3. Tolerance is the ability to

see another’s viewpoint. It is

good to possess tolerance and

patience, to see things from

another’s perspective.

4. We must not murmur or

indulge in self-pity and must

refuse to view ourselves as

victims. There is absolutely no

need to share any radioactivity

out of our resentments, unhap-

piness and uneasy spirit. We

can choose to be of good cheer.

Attitude makes all the differ-

ence in our daily lives, and we

control our attitude. Every day,

every moment, we choose to be

miserable or happy, content or

dissatisfied. For maximum hap-

piness, peace and contentment,

choose a positive attitude.

And now, as I am on the back

nine of life, and can clearly see

the clubhouse, I will continue

striving daily to cultivate an

even, unruffled temper, until

I can perfectly control myself

at all times, in all places and

under all circumstances, with

grace and utmost respect for

myself and others.
