The IREM Greater Denver Chapter received the IREM Award for Innovation in recognition of the chapter’s luncheon entitled “Work Life Empowerment Series.” The award was announced at the Institute of Real Estate Management Leadership and Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C. In 2014, the Award for Innovation was introduced by IREM in order to acknowledge innovative ideas, celebrate chapter accomplishments, and educate all chapters on outstanding programs and initiatives. The 2014 empowerment series slate of speakers included Jerry Schemmel (voice of the Rockies), Susie Wargin (Channel 9 sports anchor), Tricia Downing and Brandi Duncan. Denver members and guests said they make the lunches a priority because the luncheons are an escape from the mundane and an opportunity to rethink priorities. The Denver chapter said the 2015 luncheon series is maintaining the attraction. The luncheons are held at Del Frisco’s Steak House, which restricts attendance to about 70, making the lunch a more intimate setting.
