of Ellis and Dot Sobol, 615 South Alton Way,
#8B, 303-363-9515. We are reading a novel
in August,
“The Queue”
by ah Abdul Basmah
Abdel Aziz. “The Queue” describes the sinister
nature of authoritarianism, and illuminates
the way that absolute authority manipulates
information, mobilizes others in service to it and
fails to uphold the rights of those faithful to it.
DEMOCRATIC CLUB
will meet on
Tuesday, August 23, at 7 p.m. in CENTERPOINT.
By that time the Democratic National Convention
will have met. Most of us have never been to a
national convention and get our news from TV,
the Internet or newspapers. Ever wonder what
actually goes on there? We are fortunate to have
two delegates who have agreed to tell us what
it was like to attend the convention. Both are
Sanders delegates. They will have much to share
of the activities leading up to the convention and
of being on the floor with the Colorado contingent.
It will be interesting to hear how the Clinton and
Sanders factions work out their compromises.
In addition we may be able to get a speaker
to give us an insight to how the all important
Rules Committee has worked out the competing
proposals. It should be a fascinating evening.
For information please call Jack Walsh at 720-
949-1450.
Please join us before the meeting at 5:30 p.m.
at Blossoms Restaurant for conversation and
nourishment.
