Mike” St. Patrick’s Campus Ministry Team (and some of their family members) attended “Morning with Fr. Mike” at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Metairie. Fr. Mike Schmitz delivered a beautiful message on the Eucharist. In summary, he stated that we learn to love through our bodies by embracing others. God allows us to love Him by giving us the Body of Christ in the Eucharist. After his talk, the team worshipped Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration with 600 other high school students, young adults, and chaperones. Students also were able to attend the Sacrament of Reconciliation thanks to the three Archbishops and seventeen priests available for confession. When asked about her experience, Hope McLoughlin shared, “I loved my experience today! It was so amazing to have a church full of people worshipping. My favorite quote from today was ‘Behold the Lamb of God.’ I hear that quote every Mass, but today put new meaning into that.”
