Father Peter Mockler remembered on the
first anniversary of his death
Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Delisle was the setting for a Memorial Mass
marking the first anniversary of the death of Father Peter Mockler, a native of Ireland
who was serving as pastor of St. Ann Parish in Lizana at the time of his death. Father
Pete was also a longtime pastor of Our Lady of the Gulf Parish in Bay St. Louis. Bishop
Roger Morin was principal celebrant. Father George Murphy, pastor of St. Joseph
Parish in Gulfport, a good friend of Father Pete’s, was homilist. Father Pete’s brother,
Father Paddy Mockler, who is pastor of Most Holy Trinity Parish, thanked the bishops
and his brother priests for their support of his brother and also conveyed the gratitude
of the entire Mockler family. Bishop Morin is pictured exiting the church, as members
of the Knights of Columbus stand at attention. The bishop was assisted by Deacon Rich
Hollingsworth, who is pictured to the bishop’s left and Deacon Lucien Moragas, who
is to the bishop’s right.
