Taylor Kohrs completed the
new administrative and main-
tenance facility headquar-
ters for the Southeast Metro
Stormwater Authority.
The firm partnered with
SEMSWA, Applebaum Archi-
tects and NV5 to provide a
new and functional campus
for SEMSWA employees and
new infrastructure for the city
of Centennial.
The campus is located at
the intersection of South Fair-
play Street and South Jordan
Road, adjacent to Dove Creek
Regional Detention Pond.
Once undeveloped land, Tay-
lor Kohrs created a new inter-
section with traffic signaling,
new roads and infrastructure
to accommodate the cam-
pus. The 16,000-square-foot
administration building has
three conference rooms with
operable partitions to open
to one large conference room
with state-of-the-art audio
and visual, a workout room
with showers, a breakroom
with a walkout patio and light
harvesting light monitors
along the building rooftop.
The 8,000-sf maintenance
building has five, extra-deep,
high-bays for the Vactor trucks
and machinery along with a
mud and changing room for
the maintenance crews.

The Neenan Co. celebrat-
ed the grand opening of the
Creede School.
The firm served as the
design-build partner on the
K-12 replacement school facil-
ity for Creede School District
in Creede.
The 37,000-square-foot school
will house all district students
and has been designed to
accommodate growth and the
potential for future expansions.
The new facility will improve
the health and safety of the stu-
dents and faculty through the
use of updated technology and
advanced features including a
controlled entry and improved
natural lighting, acoustics
and air quality, according to
The Neenan Co. The school
is targeted to receive LEED
Gold certification. The energy-
efficient design provides the
updated facilities necessary to
enhance learning standards.
“We are thrilled with the
final product and all of the
work that The Neenan Co. has
done on behalf of Creede,”
said Creede School District
Superintendent Buck Stroh.
“The new facility will have a
large impact on students and
the entire Creede community.
Thanks to the state-of-the-art
facility, the school’s operating
budget can focus on student
needs rather than the constant
repairs required by the previ-
ous buildings.”
The new facility was con-
structed to represent and ben-
efit the Creede community,
the firm noted. The facility’s
design includes a large turf
area, the gym and library have
extended hours for commu-
nity use, and the school has
been equipped with the capac-
ity to serve as an emergency
center in the future. Commu-
nity members were included
in the design and construction
process, as students helped
design the playgrounds, and
local suppliers provided many
of the building materials and
influenced the aesthetics of the
building.
The Neenan Co. has served
previously as a partner to the
Creede School District, assist-
ing with the project’s master
plan, Colorado’s Building
Excellent Schools Today grant
application and bond cam-
paign.
