Employee of the Year recipient
for 2015.
The award was created in
memory of company founder
Gerald G. Gallegos and recog-
nizes employees for hard work
and dedication to the company
as well as for the highest level of
service and commitment.
Slocum started in Vail in 1997
with the firm, which special-
izes in stone/masonry, plaster/
stucco, concrete, marble/granite
work and stone sales, as an esti-
mator and went on to serve as a
project engineer. He joined the
Denver team in 2002 as a project
manager, working his way to
senior project manager.

dent of civil engineering.
Reed joins the firm, which pro-
vides civil engineering, natural
resources,
land sur-
veying and
construction
management
services, hav-
ing spent the
past 11 years
in design
and project
management
for public
works, land development and
transportation projects. Most
recently, Reed was vice president
at Huitt-Zollars Inc.
At Core, he will assist in busi-
ness and project delivery for the
firm, but his primary focus will
be in growing the firm’s public
works and transportation prac-
tice.
