Batik Watercolor Painting
In just a few hours, learn the fun process
of batik wax resist on rice paper to make
a gorgeous watercolor painting suitable
for framing. Batik is an ancient Indonesian
technique of layering wax to resist paint or
dyes. Start by tracing a prepared design
(there are many gorgeous ones to choose
from) and then learn how to layer the wax
and paint colors of your choice to build up
depth and color. Then iron out the wax and
voila! You have a gorgeous picture ready
to slip in a frame.
Lydia Rea and Mary
Tharp
host the class. Lydia Rea has taught
the popular Bob Ross painting classes at
CFU for many years, and Mary is also a
painting teacher and all-around crafting
aficionado. You simply will not believe how
easy it is to create spectacular results with
this technique! The materials fee covers
paper, wax & misc materials. See CFU
