Asa Jones was elected Speaker of the House, Mason Mooney earned the position of Lieutenant Governor, and Jackson Timberlake was selected as Governor. Securing all three top leadership roles at the conference is a rare accomplishment for any school in the state. The Mississippi Youth Legislature program at St. Stanislaus is moderated by AP History teacher Brendan Allen, whose leadership and mentorship continue to help students develop strong civic knowledge and leadership skills. School officials praised the students for their dedication, preparation, and exemplary representation of Saint Stanislaus at the statewide conference. The evening’s highlight was the popular Shark Adventure, where students had the opportunity to get up close with a three-foot shark, igniting curiosity and enthusiasm for ocean life. In addition, attendees explored interactive creature stations and participated in a variety of hands-on marine science activities designed to engage young learners and deepen their understanding of the underwater world. Following the event’s overwhelming success, St. Stanislaus and the Mississippi Aquarium will host a second evening of marine science exploration on Thursday, February 26, at the Mississippi Aquarium. St. Stanislaus senior forward/center Max Baria has earned one of the most prestigious honors in Mississippi high school basketball, being named to the Clarion-Ledger’s Dandy Dozen for the 2025–26 season. Baria becomes just the third player in Rock-A-Chaw history to receive this distinction, placing him among the elite basketball players across the state. Adding to his accolades, Baria was also named WXXV Student-Athlete of the Week in December, recognizing his outstanding performances both on and off the court. Baria has been a dominant force this season, averaging 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks per game, helping lead St. Stanislaus to an impressive 15-2 record and a No. 1 ranking in Mississippi Division 3A. Last season, he posted a double-double average with 18.2 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, along with 3.3 steals and 3.2 blocks, showcasing his all-around impact on the game. His stellar play has attracted collegiate interest with scholarship offers from Jones College, Itawamba Community College, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and Southwest Mississippi Community College.
