Page 8 PLATFORM NICOLE SWICK-YELLOWHAIR TRIBAL COUNCIL CANDIDATE SPECIAL ELECTION JULY 6, 2021 TO THE PEOPLE OF THE COLORADO RIVER INDIAN TRIBES My name is Nicole Swick-Yellowhair. I am the 37-year-old grand- daughter of the late Vance Swick and Mary Lisa Goodman-Swick and the daughter of Lisa Swick. I have resided in Parker, AZ, most of my life with my husband and our son. A single mother and grandparents raised me. Being the oldest of six siblings has nurtured my ability to be a leader early on. Thus far, I have done my best to set a good example for my family and commu- nity. So, when the possibility to serve on a higher level presented itself, I decided to pursue it. Taking the values I have learned, I know I can make a positive difference. My connections to the community and firsthand experiences empha- sized awareness of our people's needs and issues. As a result, I decid- ed to be a voice of change and, more importantly, a representative of action. My experience as a youth mentor and a small business owner gave me the insight to inspire our youth and promote our tribal entrepreneurs. With your vote, I look forward to collaborating with other leaders to make a difference. As an advocate for the people, I am eager to hear your thoughts and concerns. It is my goal to make them heard and apply them to the deci- sions regarding our future. I am confident when the four tribes come together, we will find solutions. The lines of communication will be open, and actions will happen. As a result, our community will thrive. With my dedication to faith, family, culture, land, and water, I am committed wholeheartedly to serving the people of the Colorado River Indian Tribes. A vote for me will be a venture towards progress! Thank you for your support, and God bless the Colorado River Indian Tribes. Sincerely, Nicole Swick-Yellowhair
