Benefit Roast
LONG BEACH -- Come join the
Benefit Roast of Father Louis Lohan and
Father Mike Austin on Nov. 1 at St. Vin-
cent de Paul School gym.
The doors open at 6:30 pm, the steak
dinner will be served at 7 pm, and the
Roast will begin at 7:45 pm.
Enjoy a great dinner, beer and wine,
and a fun night of roasting our wonder-
ful pastors! The price is $60 per person,
$100 per couple.

St. Joseph Jambalaya
Dinner and Craft Fair
GULFPORT -- The St. Joseph Jam-
balaya Dinner and Craft Fair will take
place on Nov. 26 from 11 am to 1 pm at
St. Joseph Church, 12290 DePew Road.
Eat-in or to-go meal will include jam-
balaya (or macaroni and cheese), salad,
rolls, and dessert. Tickets will be avail-
able at the door. Adult tickets are $9 and
children tickets are $5. The event will
feature a Ladies’ Guild country store,
craft vendors, baked goods, raffles and
door prizes.
St. John the Evangelist
$10,000 Drawdown
GULFPORT -- St. John the Evange-
list Parish will hold a $10,000 drawdown
and silent auction on Nov. 8 at 6:30
pm in Presentation Hall across from the
church, 2414 17th St. (downtown Gulf-
port). Doors open at 6 pm. Tickets are
$100 and each ticket admits 4 people.
There will be lots of food and door priz-
es. Proceeds help to defray the parish’s
annual insurance costs. To purchase tick-

Cooking Class with
Chef Sister Cecilia
LONG BEACH -- Join Chef Sister
Cecilia Thursday, November 6, 6 pm,
at the St. Thomas Community Center,
for a cooking class, making Vietnam-
ese spring rolls & egg rolls with hoisin
peanut sauce. The cost is $25 per person
and includes dinner and drinks. You can
pre-make the egg rolls and save them for
Thanksgiving.
All proceeds will benefit the St. Vin-
cent de Paul Society to assist the poor in
Harrison County!

CSA Drawing for
a Nissan Juke
HATTIESBURG -- The Catholic Stu-
dent Association at St. Thomas Aquinas
Church is sponsoring a drawing to win
a Nissan Juke on Dec. 4 at 6 pm in the
University of Southern Mississippi’s
Thad Cochran Center. Tickets are $100
and each ticket admits two people for
dinner. You need not be present to win.
Runner up prizes in the amounts of
$2,000, $1,000 and $500 (there will be
two separate $500 prizes). Your donation
will help fund retreats, dinners, and com-

Catholic Scout Religious
Award Classes
KILN -- The Diocese of Biloxi Cath-
olic Committee on Scouting will offer
Catholic Scout Religious Award classes
for the Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII
at Annunciation Parish Hall, 5370 Kiln-
Delisle Road, beginning Sunday, Oc-
tober 26, from 2-4 pm. Any Boy Scout
interested in attending the classes should
register with Cindy Burnett at (228) 255-

The purpose of the Ad Altare Dei (to
the altar of God) program is to help Cath-
olic Youth of the Roman Rite develop a
fully Christian way of life in the faith
community. The program is organized in
chapters based on the seven sacraments.
The seven Sacraments are a primary
means toward spiritual growth. Scouts
should be 13 or in the eighth grade to be-
gin this award.
Pope Pius XII is Catholic Scouting’s
church-related ministries and vocation
program. The program deals with dif-

BAY ST. LOUIS -- The St. Rose de
Lima Heritage Festival will be held Oct.
18 from 11 am until 11 pm at 301 South
Necaise Avenue. Admission and park-
ing are free. And there will be live music
and activities for the whole family. There
will be amazing food, including BBQ,
seafood gumbo and plenty of sweets.
There will also be raffles, arts and crafts,
plants, a silent auction, a mechanical bull
