Bishop Morin installs new pastors for Dedeaux and
Gulfport Parishes
Bishop Roger Morin installed two new pastors the weekend of January 18-19. At left, Bishop Morin installed Father Bartosz Kunat (pictured at left) as pastor
of Sacred Heart Parish in Dedeaux on January 18 at the 4 pm Vigil Mass. At Bishop Morin’s right, is Deacon Adam Urbaniak, who will be ordained a priest this
summer. Both Father Bart and Deacon Adam are natives of Poland. This is Father Bart’s first pastorate. He previously served as parochial vicar of St. James
Parish in Gulfport.

warm welcome. A reception followed in the parish center. Prior to returning to St. James, Father Charles served as pastor of St. Mary Parish in Gautier.

Ocean Springs bids farewell to Father Bernie Farrell
A retirement party for Father Bernard Farrell was held on Jan. 12 at the Ocean Springs Civic Center. Father Farrell, who served as pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton
Parish for the past 12 years, is moving to Canton to be closer to his brother, Msgr. Patrick Farrell, a retired priest of the Diocese of Jackson. Msgr. Farrell and
other members of Father Farrell’s family attended the celebration. At left, Ocean Springs Mayor Connie Moran presents Father Farrell, who also spent 12 years as
pastor of St. Alphonsus Parish in Ocean Springs with the key to the city. They are joined by Alderman Mike Impey, who is also a St. Elizabeth Seton parishioner.
At right, Father Farrell is surrounded by young people who made a special presentation to their departing pastor. Bishop Roger Morin also attended the reception
and praised Father Farrell for his service to the people of Mississippi.
