On Dec. 14, Dr. Grover Bravo, a Catholic psychologist form California, visit
the diocese of Biloxi to continue the program
FE Y DESARROLLO FAMILIAR
.
This program is presented here in the diocese with the intention to strengthen the
Family life among Hispanics.
Around 50 men attended the workshop and enjoyed the themes and dynamics
Dr. Bravo presented. The workshop was focused on the need to be a better person
at work, at home and to especially be a good dad and husband.
Fr. Sergio Balderas director of Hispanic Ministry, explains that “Dr. Bravo has
opened the eyes and minds of the men and women who come to his workshops. It is
nice to see these families grow in their relationships. I can see how they apply what
they learn. These families now communicate between themselves better, dads have
a quality time with their kids, couples spend more time together and when there
is a need for dialogue and commitment to change, they are willing to do it for the
good of the family. As a priest, Father Balderas said, “it is a blessing to have this
kind of professional help.”
Father Balderas, explained that for the year 2014, Dr. Bravo will present his
workshops at Immaculate Conception Parish in Laurel, with the intention to allow
the Hispanic families of the Northern Deanery to attend these workshops and
strengthen their family life. Fr. Ignacio Jimenez, associate director of Hispanic
Ministry, will coordinate this program,
