enver Metro BOMA
is a commercial real
estate organization
with 96 years of ser-
vice in the Denver area. This
nonprofit membership asso-
ciation represents building
owners and property manage-
ment for commercial buildings
including office, industrial
and retail. Vendor service pro-
viders – or Allied members,
as we are called – are strong
supporters of the organization
financially and in filling the
need for industry expertise.
If you aren’t already an
Allied member of Denver
Metro BOMA, it’s time you
take a look. BOMA’s mission
includes advocacy, education
and information. Advocacy at
the local, state and national
levels is the main purpose of
Denver Metro BOMA, pro-
viding thorough support of
building ownership and man-
agement buildings as well as
business. Educating build-
ing professionals is another
primary goal, with continued
education and certification
programs for the membership
and industry.
The commercial real estate
industry, like many indus-
tries, is changing. Millennials
now account for one-third
of the work force. They are
beginning to move into deci-
sion-making roles and have
high expectations of the prop-
erties in which they work.
Some of the things that are
important
to them in
office build-
ings are sus-
tainability,
improved
building
image,
employee
wellness
and workout
facilities.
They want
more natural
light, com-
mon space
atriums and
open offices
without walls. Office space
is shrinking in favor of more
common spaces to share and
collaborate on ideas. Allied
members are key to provid-
ing elements of many of these
amenities and tenants are
willing to pay for these items
in the buildings.
By tearing down the walls
of what was conventional,
Denver Metro BOMA is find-
ing the new path for the
future of the membership. As
the workforce and tenants
change, BOMA is changing
with it. You’ll find Denver
Metro BOMA on social media
including Facebook, LinkedIn
and Twitter. In addition,
BOMA has an educational
group called Emerging
Professionals that networks
and builds educational pro-
grams to encourage learn-
ing and interaction. The
Emerging Professionals is
focused on new management
professionals with less than
seven years in the industry.
Just this year, BOMA
hosted programs on public
speaking – the one thing peo-
ple fear most – law and risk
management, workplace vio-
lence and sustainable build-
ing investments. BOMA also
is building programs around
fun! The organization is look-
ing for new ways to stay con-
nected with peers and other
professionals and Allied mem-
bers play a major supporting
role. BOMA recognizes the
importance of including the
young membership and has
answered with golf tourna-
ments, sporting clay events
and beer tastings at local
breweries in events such as
“Meet the Prez.”
This year, one of our high-
light events, the Mile High
Awards and Holiday Party,
is being held on the top
floor of the Davita World
Headquarters. This will be a
prestigious and fun event for
property management and
vendor service professionals.
People are the future of
BOMA, so I am putting out
the call for membership.
Being an Allied member is
a great way to network with
industry professionals and
comes with many additional
benefits including a multitude
of informational and educa-
tional opportunities. This is
an important organization
with a long history of sup-
porting Colorado’s commercial
buildings, and vendor service
providers play a big part. It
is the people of BOMA that
make this happen. Join today
and be part of the future of
business in Colorado.

Preferred Painting once said …
The pay-off has been meeting incredible
people and good relationships … and
friendships. A large percentage, 85 to 90
percent of our total business, comes directly
or indirectly through contacts that we have
made through BOMA.
