Women & Wealth
It’s Different for Women
Women often earn less than men,
participate in the work force less time than
men, and statistically live longer than men.
Women are often alone in retirement; some
never marry, are divorced, or are widowed
early on (the average age for a widow is
56). Since women live longer in retirement,
with less in savings, and more often alone,
it’s no wonder many secretly fear becoming
a “bag lady!” If you’re a woman age 40
or more and are concerned about your
financial future, this is the class for you!
Topics will include Social Security, IRAs,
ROTHs, 401Ks, Wills, Living Trusts, and
more. You’ll learn how to understand your
current financial situation, set realistic goals
and objectives, and create a secure financial
future.
Linda Gardner
has been helping
women gain financial understanding and
independence for decades and is known for
her ability to help people easily understand
financial concepts. Tuition includes a 20-
page financial workbook, a 24-page booklet:
What Women Should Know about Social
Security
,
a Personal Wealth Index
, and more
to help with your plan.

How to Create a Sustainable
Retirement Income Stream
Gain a better
understanding of the
many different ways
you might fund your
retirement from your
investments and how
to integrate it with
Social Security benefits

plan. Class goes in to detail on the four
main strategies of retirement planning:
living off interest (of savings); planning for
mandatory vs. discretionary spending; using
the 4% rule; and the Bucket Method. Unlike
some other retirement planning classes,
the instructor integrates all four strategies
with social security and pensions. Taught by
Lee Claymore

Lee also teaches two extremely well-received
classes on Social Security and Medicare
planning at CFU.

Solve the Retirement Puzzle
The “Retirement Guy’s” Guide to
Financial Well-Being
Peace of mind in retirement is about
much more than the size of your 401(k) or
your Social Security check. It’s critical to
know how to safeguard your hard-earned
accumulated assets, develop an adequate
stream of guaranteed lifetime income, deal
effectively with taxes so that the IRS does
not become your #1 beneficiary, protect
yourself from the catastrophic costs of
long term care and build a legacy for your
loved ones.

All About Annuities
The Backbone of a Successful
Retirement Strategy
Annuities often get a bad rap; people often
assume that all annuities have high fees,
tie up your money, are not liquid, and don’t
offer much opportunity. This class busts
those myths and introduces you to the
variety and potential of annuities. Topics
include types and categories of annuities,
tax treatment of annuities, annuities and
other qualified plans (IRAs, 401(k)s, etc),
annuity ladders, the place and benefits of
annuities in a retirement plan, and more.
Class is perfect for those over the age of 50
and in or near retirement.
