IN BRIEF Natyanjali, Arudra Darshan @ MGTOA Vaikuntha Ekadashi Celebrations at SVK Temple Vaikuntha Ekadashi Celebrations at SVK Temple By Dr. Rebecca Danos becca.bd.prep@gmail.com we sang poetry together the sun’s fingers incandescent lapped the air between us branding us with youth’s white kiss memories of melodies whispers of shared together- ness thunderclap through broken glass you sleep in peace ahead I, restless, behind. before you slipped through I felt you heart against heart pulse tapping love’s rhythm I sang to you last lullabies songs carried in my throat of our love cradled in my breast never to be rent The new dawn of New Year brings new hopes for India. After the five-state As- sembly elections BJP’s loss in three states may have a not-so-significant impact on the forthcoming general elections but the fact that the present government has ne- glected the farmers is still a crucial factor considering the fact that India is a coun- try where most of the population directly depends upon agriculture for income and livelihood. On the other hand country’s oldest political party lacks mature lead- ers at the same time their victory in three states isn’t a complete majority as they had joined hands with allies. With effec- tive tackling of inflation, GDP, fiscal defi- cit, national security and terrorism the Modi led government is heading toward a stronger and developed nation. Fulfilling his desire to bring his soldiers back home from Islamic states, POTUS has ordered withdrawal of American forc- es from Syria citing that the US ‘has won against ISIS’. The withdrawal of nearly 2K American troops means forgoing the strategically vital Islamic state in favor of Russia and Iran as well as upsetting allies like Britain and Israel and disappointing the ethnic Kurds of Syria, the longtime supporters. At the same time it is to be noted that indefinite stay in middle east means draining the resources and get- ting tied down to one place unable to face challenges which may arise from adver- saries like China, Russia and North Ko- rea. However the President is not keen on military departure of 5K soldiers presently stationed in Iraq whom he gave a surprised visit post Christmas. Political scenario of any country is like a nonstop waterway, which will continue to change form and flow and will never be the same at any point of time. To expect the unex- pected is how we define it. It is the same theory which is applied every- where be it job, society, friendship, EDITORIAL marital life, bringing up kids, in short, our life. It is the novelty, the challenge, the motivation, the hope and the prom- ise that keeps us going. AZIndiatimes is an echo of this society - the man- kind, and attempts a true reflection of the world around in its pages through a multifariousness of thinking minds. Propelled by your blessings and good- will we hope to publish more engaging pages for you in the New Year. From all of us here, we wish our readers and sponsors a Happy New Year and sweet beginnings!
