Outside India, we at SVK Temple have been celebrating this event from past 18 years . The temple devotees led by head priest, work very hard and come up with very unique and creative ideas of Vaikun- ta Dwara every single year. This year the special Dwara was a replicate of the pil- lars found in ‘ Sesharaya Mandapam ’ at Srirangam (Ranganathaswami Temple). The preparations begin days early with the help of other devotees in building the Vaikunta Dwara. Devotees started arriving at the temple as early as 4:30 am in the morning this year. More than 250 people along with small kids attended the ‘ Vaikunta Dwara Pooja ’ and did the ‘ Dwara Pravesha ’ in the morning. The dwara praveshes was followed by ‘ Sri Venkateshwara Suprab- hatam ’, special Alankara Pooja, Pulangi Seva, Vishnu Sahasranama and other Vedic chants. In the evening, in the pres- ence of hundreds of devotees, ‘ Sri Vishnu Sahasranama ’ was chanted 11 times. The entire place was exuding with posi- tive energy and filled with bliss. During the course of the day, more than 2,500 devotees vis- ited the temple and had Lord Sri VenkataKrishna’s divine dar- shana after passing through the Vaikunta Dwara. The day ended with a ‘ Maha Mangala Arathi ’ at 8:00 pm. Vaikunta Ekadashi was extra special this year for all of us, with ‘ Gita Jayanti ’ falling on the same day. Gita Jayanti is the festival where Bhaga- vad Gita (The Song of the Lord) was spoken by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the battle of Kurukshetra (which lies in the present day Haryana State in India). It is a very auspicious day for Lord Krishna Bhaktas. We would like to thank the Indian com- munity for supporting the SVK temple and making this event a big success.
