She was a longtime resident of Building 52. Delphine had a long battle with cancer, although she never complained about her health. She continued her workouts at her exercise classes, yoga and many other classes here at Windsor Gardens. She did meticulous decorating on Building 52’s fourth floor elevator lobby for many years. She was a hardworking volunteer at Queen of Peace Parish. Her husband Bob preceded her in death. God bless you, Delphine. We will miss you. Solomon “Sol” Romero , Building 12, passed away June 29, 2018. He was well known in the community as the man who sat on the bench on the corner of Alton Way and Clinton Street, greeting and talking to everyone who came by. I resisted for awhile, but when my husband said he would take me along on his almost daily walks I decided to join him. He has long legs and moves at a good clip, but I am seated at flower-viewing level and see Windsor Gardens in a lovely new way as we leave the roads and see the beautiful areas behind and between buildings. I rediscovered how beautiful our home is here; how lucky we are to be so cared for. My new wheelchair gets me in the midst of all the forgotten reasons why we, as we age, are surrounded by carefully tended gardens and trees. This is a beautiful place to be! And I love all the smiles that greet me in route. Beverly Clausen Use of Garbage Disposal Dear Bill Walsh, I appreciate the suggestions for preventing plumbing problems @ WG, however, you state near the end of your column [Maintenance Matters, July 2018]: "Do not place any grease or solids in your sink or garbage disposal."
