While serving as chairman of theWGGolf Committee, I decided to call each person on the list of new residents at Windsor Gardens each month. I would introduce myself and, on behalf of the golf committee, welcome them to Windsor Gardens. This inevitably led to a conversation about where they were from and what other places they had considered. The list of other facilities they had considered went on and on and included a variety of places, such as Heather Gardens, Anthem Ranch, Heritage at Eagle Bend, Dayton Villages, and The Villas at Lakewood, to name a few. I would always at that point ask them why they picked Windsor Gardens. I found their answers to be very interesting, and I thought you might find them equally so. One of the main reasons given for moving here was the beauty of Windsor Gardens: The beautiful lawns, flowers, shrubs and trees and the pretty and obviously well- maintained buildings. Several people mentioned that just driving through the Gardens gave them a nice feeling of belonging. Several had visited Windsor Gardens during the Christmas season and were, in their words, just blown away. One lady said she started believing in Santa Claus again. The financial aspects of living in Windsor Gardens were also common answers for Dick Gilmore, Board President PRESIDENT'S PEN continued on page 6 WINDSOR
