Fran was always a person on the go. She was determined not to let health and pain issues stop her life. She was one “tough cookie”. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, studying and teaching the Bible, jewelry making, needlepoint, sewing and computer games. She loved people and enjoyed talking to everyone she met. Her favorite subject was the Bible. Everyone who met her instantly felt her generosity, kindness, love and compassion. Her friends and family will miss her greatly. Unfortunately, management informed the Building Rep that we could not sit on the apron as it made Windsor Gardens appear to be “populated by old people.” The warm, homey, papered walls of our hallway with their faux wainscots and complementing carpet are gone, replaced by a dull brown paint, a quite suitable color for a maximum security prison. The paint was applied unevenly, leaving ridges and thin spots. Whether or not I look down at the floor beneath my feet or down the hallway, the carpet pattern appears to undulate and disrupts my sense of balance. These changes were made with no input from the residents of this building, and I feel that the project was a total waste of time and money, but I still must pay for it through my ever growing HOA remittance. A few years ago, health problems made it difficult for me to take care of my property. I knew I needed to step down to something smaller and easier to maintain. Moving to Windsor Gardens was not something I would have considered on my own. I am stubborn, but I will listen to Letters submitted to Windsor Life are published at the discretion of the Windsor Gardens Association Board of Directors and the editors.
