St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Ocean Springs celebrated May Crowning with some First Communicants on Sunday, May 3. Crowning the statue of Mary with a fresh floral crown was Everly Swanson, daughter of Adam and Megan Swanson. Assisting was Ian Hernandez, son of Nelda Alvarez and Sergio Hernandez. Ahtziri Hernandez, sister of Ian, and Tinley Caillavet, daughter of Tiffany and Waite Caillavet brought bouquets of fresh flowers to place in a basket at Mary’s feet. The May Crowning was directed by Altar Society member Gaye Easter. The Altar Society plans this event every year, and invites recent First Communicants to participate. St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, Ocean Springs, May Crowning Christ the King Mission in Latimer celebrated the Month of Mary by crowning the Blessed Mother on Sunday, May 10, at the beginning of the 9:15 a.m. Mass. A tradition for the Crowning is for the children to process in carrying flowers to present to Our Mother. This year’s First Communion student, Easton Cox, assisted by his grandfather Randall Cox, placed the crown on the Blessed Mother’s head.
