Collection April 25 and 26 Rowan Bryant, a second grader at St. Vincent dePaul School, received a High Merit Award from the MAEA (Mississippi Art Educators Association). Rowan, along with over 100 other students across the state, entered the Youth Art Month contest to design a flag. The theme this year was “The World Needs Art.” Rowan won the distinction of High Merit for the entire Elementary School Division. Congratulations to Rowan! St. Vincent de Paul School student receives award from Mississippi Art Educators Association Solemnity of St. Joseph at Sacred Heart Parish in Pascagoula Each year, the community of Sacred Heart Parish and the students of RCES have the honor of celebrating the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church. After the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, parishioners and students processed to the Parish Hall for the Blessing of the Altar of St. Joseph. This year, the Grandparents Group lovingly prepared and arranged the Altar. Throughout the day, different RCES classes visited the Altar, where they received an explanation of its meaning, its purpose, and the reasons behind our devotion to St. Joseph. As part of the celebration, each student received a gift bag containing a medal of St. Joseph, a prayer card, and a blessed fava bean. Saint Joseph, Terror of Demons, pray for us.
