• Anna would fight anyone, man or
beast. She had a long rap sheet. The last
time I saw Anna she was in ‘Police Lock up’
all busted up.
• Albert (snake) was killed burglarizing a
home. He was the best athlete.
• My cousin, Black Charlie, was shot by
the police and is crippled. He laughingly
tells everyone how the government gives
him drugs now. Charlie has always lived in
birdland.
• Dickie was on drugs since 13 years of
age and committed suicide at age 54.
• My wife’s brother Charlie received a
commendation from President Kennedy. Something about Cuba.
• Alex would take his leg off and go to Canal street and shine shoes. He lost his leg
after he slipped under the train wheels. I was not there at the time, but I was still cured
of hopping trains! (Osmosis, I guess)
• Larry spent two years in Milne Boys Home on Franklin Avenue. The last time I saw
him he was driving a Corvette and living off rental property.
• Tommy was my best friend, on numerous occasions I tried to locate him but never
could. I lost track of all my brothers and sisters, but still think of them.
The whistle of the train passing through Picayune speaks to me. “I’m going to
or coming from New Orleans, but not the projects. Katrina took care of that, time
took the rest.”
Even though you planned evil against me, God planned good to come of it.
