Gulf Pine Catholic • August 20, 2021 24 St. Fabian Parish honors Father Tommy Conway on the 35th anniversary of his ordination to priesthood Father Tommy Conway celebrated the 35th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood on Aug. 6. Prior to a Mass of Thanksgiving and reception, parishioner Diane Coleman presented Father Conway with vestments, which she designed and created. Father Tommy’s iend, Father Godey Andoh, concelebrated the Mass. Father Tommy also received a Papal Blessing that was presented to him by his good iend and NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre. Father Tommy was born and raised in Galway, Ireland. He graduated om Carlow College in 1986 and was ordained into the priesthood July 27, 1986. Newly ordained Deacon Erik Burckel returns to Hattiesburg to serve, preach Erik Burckel, son of David and Judy Burckel, parishioners of Sacred Heart Parish in Hattiesburg, was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate with the Legionaries of Christ on July 31 at Notre Dame Parish in Michigan City, IN. Deacon Burckel returned to Sacred Heart on Aug. 8 and preached at the 10:30 a.m. Mass.
