Bishop Louis F. Kihneman celebrated the Lunar New Year with Vietnamese Catholics at Holy Family Church in Pass Christian on February 17 and at Vietnamese Martyrs Church in Biloxi on February 24. Bishop Kihneman receives a gift of appreciation from Vietnamese Martyrs Parish. The Red Dragon dances along the driveway of Vietnamese Martyrs Church while Bishop Kihneman enjoys the entertainment. A delicious variety of food such as chicken on a stick, fried chicken and fresh bread rolls were prepared by volunteers for the Chinese New Year celebration. The Yellow Dragon and one of the performers get up close and personal with Bishop Kihneman, Vietnamese Martyrs pastor Father Thang Pham and retired former pastor Father Dominic Phan. “Lucky Money” is a small amount of money that can bring good fortune to the upcoming year. Bishop Kihneman hands out “Lucky Money” to the children. Sister Mary Ngoc Nguyen, C.C.S.S. receives a “Lucky Money” envelope from Bishop Kihneman.
