Farewell To
Sister Carmelita Mulry,
SHSp
GULFPORT -- A farewell celebra-
tion honoring Sr. Carmelita Mulry will
be held at St. Therese of Lisieux Church
on August 3 at the 9 am Mass followed
by a reception in the Parish Hall. The
celebration is a recognition of 16 years
of dedicated and loyal service to both St.
Therese of Lisieux, Gulfport, and Our
Mother of Mercy, Pass Christian. Sr.
Carmelita will head to the Sisters of the
Holy Spirit and Mary Immaculate Moth-
erhouse in San Antonio, Texas, to begin
the next phase of her ministry.
A Retreat for Vietnamese
Married Couples
BAY ST. LOUIS -- A Retreat for
Vietnamese Married Couples will be
held Sept. 4-7 at the St. Augustine Semi-
nary’s Father William Kelley Retreat
Center. Father Joseph Dao Vu, SVD,
will be the presenter. On Thursday, Sept
4: arrival/room assignment at 6 pm, first
conference at 7 pm. On Sunday, Sept
7, the retreat will wrap up after lunch.
Cost is $300 per couple. To register, call

Adult Bible Class
DEDEAUX -- Sacred Heart Parish
is offering a 24-week men and women
Adult Bible Class starting Monday, Sep-
tember 8. We will break for the month of
Dec. and resume Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.
The cost is $60 and will be held at the
Dedeaux-Cursillo Center.

St. Patrick Hoops Team
Fundraiser
BILOXI -- The St. Patrick Varsity
Boys Basketball team has accepted an
invitation to play in the Maui-Lahainalu-
na Invitational Tournament in Hawaii in
December. This is an honor and the team
is excited about the opportunity to repre-
sent the coast and the state. The boys will
have to raise the money to make the trip.
Please consider sponsoring the team with
a donation of $3,000 (Primary), $1,000
(Gold), $500 (Silver) or $250 (Bronze).

Southern Miss Job Summary: A full time
position. Under the general direction of
the St. Thomas pastor, Fr. Mark Ropel,
the campus minister provides pasto-
ral counseling to students; encourages
spiritual and moral growth; plans and
directs programs and activities including
Wednesday and Sunday night dinners,
fall Retreat, mission trips, and various
other community service activities; pro-
motes the Catholic mission identity.

The Silent Auction features hundreds
of items, donated by restaurants, church
members, supermarkets, golf packages,
home décor items, paintings and artwork
by local artists, sport items and signed
memorabilia.
Raffle tickets for (2) season tickets, a
42 inch TV and a $100 gift card to Bac-
chus Restaurant and a $100 gift card to
Neco’s Family Market will be on sale
from 6-8 pm. Cost is $25 per ticket or
five for $100.
The Silent Auction will close at 8:15
and the Raffle Drawing will be at 8:30
pm. Proceeds will benefit Most Holy
Trinity Catholic Church.
All parishioners who bring a food
item to the pre-season Saint’s Party will
receive a free drawing ticket for the

OCEAN SPRINGS -- St. Elizabeth

present a concert by Catholic recording
artist John Finch on Aug. 6 at 7 pm. Al-

for the parish’s Community Food Assis-

GULFPORT -- On July 10 the Red
Cross held a Blood Drive sponsored by
Knights of Columbus Council 7910 at
St. Joseph’s Church. The goal was 51
donors. The Red Cross recorded 54 do-
nors. Knights of Columbus members as-
sisted with set-up, registration, snacks,
and clean-up for the event.
