N
ortheastern Junior College located in Sterling, is one of the state’s best
two-year schools, providing a diverse program in arts and humanities. The
renovation of E.S. French Hall included the expansion of the main lobby,
classrooms, galleries, performance and support spaces, including the 550-seat,
proscenium-style Dorthy J. Corsberg Theatre, where the acoustical finishes and
materials, the audiovisual (AV) system, the technical intercom, the assistive listen-
ing systems, theater rigging, drapery, and the performance lighting systems were
all replaced. A new flexible drama classroom/theater space, complete with a pipe
grid, was created for rehearsals, instructional use or small performances, much like
an experimental or black box theater. D. L. Adams Associates Inc. was the acousti-
cal and theatrical consultant for the project and provided analyses and acoustical
recommendations to address sound isolation and mechanical noise for the entire
building and designed all of the theater performance systems.
C
onstruction is underway on the city of Arvada’s first ever hotel. The five-
story Hilton Garden Inn features 139 rooms, a restaurant, meeting and event
space, an indoor pool, and fitness center.
Brinkman Partners is developing the project in partnership with hotel operator
Renascent Hospitality and in conjunction with Arvada Hotel Investors, the city of
Arvada and the Arvada Urban Renewal Authority.
Situated on a 3-acre site near 55th Avenue and Olde Wadsworth, the hotel is
uniquely positioned within walking distance of vibrant restaurants, breweries,
shopping and a future light-rail station. Both visitors and residents will benefit from
this new addition to historic Olde Town Arvada, which is slated to be completed in
early 2017.
M
AX Construction Inc. recently completed the 31,000-square-foot Extraction
Oil & Gas space, located at 370 17th St. in Denver. MAX collaborated with
Venture Architecture to create an open atrium look for the reception area
that opens the 53rd and 54th floors. A 40-foot-high beetle kill wall is complement-
ed by a series of lighting fixtures resembling drills coming out of the ceiling and into
the ground. MAX was able to deliver this stunning space by working closely with its
subcontractor base and Venture to deliver the unique project design concepts while
maintaining the client budget.
W
hite Construction Group recently completed renovations at Medved Auto-
plex in Castle Rock. This project was phased to allow half of the show-
room and operations to remain open during construction and only mini-
mally impact day-to-day operations.

paint, flooring and millwork. Walls were removed and the customer area was relo-
cated to create more open space. The service drive was updated with new interior
paint throughout and lighting upgrades at the customer contact location. Exterior
upgrades included a new aluminum composite material panels and a new front
sign entry tower.
