/ McWhinneys: From Strawberry Stands to Union Station to Windsor Dairy Block /
With the entrepreneurial spirit, both Chad
and Troy work hard to focus on a few key fun-
damental elements, which include the follow-
ing:
• Diversity.
We have the expertise to help
bring client’s dreams to reality.
• Capitaliztion.
We have cash flow in addi-
tion to strong lending relationships to move
projects forward.
• Flexibility.
Our platform allows us to find
creative solutions for every client’s require-
ments.
• Reliability.
We exceed our customer’s ex-
pectations by providing fabled experiences
As a diversified real estate firm, McWhin-
ney excels in the following areas:
• Developing multi-use projects
• Commercial and mixed-use development
• Public/private partnerships
• Acquisition and investment in land and
real estate activities
• Property management and leasing
What has capped off a really amazing sum-
mer for McWhinney has been the opportu-
nity to co-develop the historic Union Station
building. The original building was opened
in the summer of 1881, and it burned down in
1894. Quickly rebuilt, it operated up to 80 trains
a day.
The nowcompletedUnion Station is further
enhanced by 40,000 square feet of outdoor
plaza space, which will be the centerpiece of
RTD’s Front Range bus route and FasTracks
light-rail expansion program.
To further round out the company’s nod to
historic preservation, McWhinney has part-
nered with Grand American Inc. to redevelop
the historic Windsor Dairy Block.
Located within walking distance of Coors
Field, the projects will consist of more than
325,000 square feet of office and retail along
with a hotel. There will be private under-
ground parking between 18th and 19th streets,
and Blake and Wazee streets. Built in 1918, the
Windsor Farm Dairy Building is among the
historic structures on the block. “We appreci-
ate situations, partnerships, and transactions
where together we can accomplish more
than we can do alone. This synergy is essen-
tial to having a successful outcome,” says Chad
McWhinney.
