When I divorced I was living alone for the first time in my life. My home was very empty. I got a wonderful dog, named Bo, froma shelter. Having Bo made my house alive. I loved coming home to him, playing in the yard with him and taking walks with him. I brought Bo here to Colorado with me, but when the time demands of my job got so great, I decided my lifestyle was not fair to Bo. I gave him to my son so there were kids and people in and out of his new home all the time. My current husband looked at moving to a 55+ community in Loveland before I met him. He chose not to buy there because they did not allow pets, at all. He had a bird that he was very attached to and was unwilling to give up. The reason I bring this up is I would like to clarify some issues being discussed in our community concerning pets and, hopefully, dispel some misunderstandings. One of these is that Windsor Gardens has a responsibility to keep our pets happy and healthy. Our first responsibility as board members is to keep our residents healthy and safe. And secondly to safeguard the finances with which we have been entrusted. We take those responsibilities very seriously. Michele Compton, Board President WINDSOR continued on page 6
