When we first moved here it was a piece of heaven compared to what we came from. But something has changed. It is like living in cell block D. I can’t believe the way people slam their doors all day and half the evening. Also, there is all the construction work that is going on. I called and complained to the front desk, and I was told the workers have permits to get work done.  I suffer from chronic headaches and Auntie has dementia, and sometimes when the construction work is going on she thinks that people are at the door and I have to calm her down like a child. I know there is not a lot that can be done, but consideration from the neighbors and the workers would be nice. Jessie Mohr Response to “Inconsiderate People” Although Windsor Gardens is a 55 and over community, and noise levels may decrease because of our demographics, you will occasionally experience annoying and uncomfortable noise in your building and the neighborhood You are correct, slamming doors all day and evening is very inconsiderate, but not everyone realizes they are slamming their door versus shutting it in a way that seems reasonable to them. Respectfully talking to them may solve the issue. If somebody is intentionally slamming a door to upset their neighbor or neighbors, the association has policies to prevent that from continuing. If it’s an exterior common door or a door in the common area hallways, please place a work order for our maintenance staff to investigate. Construction noise from a remodel is one of the top sources of noise complaints; however, per the Noise Policy it is allowed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. No work can be performed on Sundays or major holidays. If construction continues during those prohibited times, please notify Community Response to investigate and shut the remodel down. They will also check for a permit to make sure the work is being performed with association approval. Hopefully, you and your aunt can return to the piece of heaven you moved into.
