If there is a downside to living at Windsor Gardens, it has to be that we don't have all the cute kids ringing our doorbell and shouting "Trick or Treat!" Another important happening in October is our Board of Directors election. This year we have three openings; three people will be elected to serve three years each. During those three years, they will be making decisions on, among other things, the ongoing work on the underground garages, the continuing replacement of boilers along with the re-piping required on some, getting started with the new hallway decorating policy and the beginning of the roof replacement project, which will go on for a number of years until all buildings have new roofs. In addition to these projects there will be the unexpected problems that tend to occur in a 55-year-old community and must be handled by the board and the administration. Another project which may very well come to fruition before this board is the rebuilding of the Windsor Gardens restaurant. This has been in the preliminary planning stages for years. Each time a board would start to seriously work on this project, another problem or problems would occur which took precedence in the list of priorities. The restaurant is in an old Quonset hut Dick Gilmore, Board President PRESIDENT'S PEN continued on page 3 WINDSOR
