CBC merger creates largest CRE brokerage firm in region

by Jill Jamieson-Nichols

CBC Advisors recently acquired Coldwell Banker Commercial Alliance from Sutherland Asset Management, creating the largest Coldwell Banker Commercial affiliate globally. The deal comprised 10 CBC Alliance offices, including the one in Denver.

“This historic acquisition and resulting expansion create a powerful national footprint, restoring the most respected brand in commercial real estate,” Brandon Fugal, chairman of CBC Advisors, said in a statement. The company now operates 28 offices across the country.

“By harnessing the talent and capability of both organizations, we will deliver the most effective solutions as a trusted adviser to clients on a local, national and international basis,” said Lew Cramer, president and CEO of the Salt Lake City-based company.

“We’ve established a dominant record of excellence as the largest and top performing commercial real estate brokerage in the intermountain west. Our leadership team understands how to succeed in the Rocky Mountain region through decades of tried experience and surely believes that Denver is the perfect market to further deploy our agent centric platform,” he said.

Cramer said the acquisition brings institutional-quality tools, technology and resources to the Denver office, which is operated by Ben Gilliam and Jon Treter. Those include best-in-class mapping, data and other resources that allow the firm to compete against any of the top commercial real estate firms and to attract clients nationally. “We are much more than just a local service unit,” he said.

CBC Advisors offers a “quick and nimble” corporate structure. “We want to empower our agents to focus on their clients and grow their book of business,” he said. “We feel like the best investment we can make is in our agents.”

Cramer said CBC Advisors is in a growth mode nationally and in Denver. “We intend to grow the market. We believe we can expand because we can provide a national scope to our brokers in Denver,” he said.

CBC Advisors has quadrupled in size over the past three years.
