NV5 Global Inc., a provider of professional and technical engineering and consulting solutions, announced that its contract was extended to provide comprehensive project management services for the $4.3 million vertical expansion of the University of Kansas Hospital’s Cambridge Tower. NV5 has been working with the hospital as the program management team for the Cambridge Tower since planning began for this expansion to the hospital’s campus, located in Kansas City, Kansas, in 2011. The vertical expansion encompasses 177,000 square feet and four floors, and is scheduled to be finished in 2018. One new floor of the expansion will be immediately prepared for patient occupancy, adding 32 acute-care beds. The other three floors will be shelled for future expansion as either acute-care or intensive-care patient rooms. NV5 has provided broad scope owner’s representative services to the hospital beginning with facilities master planning, which continued throughout the programming, design and construction phases of the project. “We are pleased that we continue to win repeat work for large-scale state-of-the-art health care facilities projects, in this case, for the expansion of one of the leading hospitals in the United States,” said Dickerson Wright, PE, chairman and CEO of NV5. “Over the course of several major projects, it has been our privilege to serve the University of Kansas Hospital in the management and development of world-class health care facilities,” said Mark Tasker, RA, project director.
