Semper Fit Center at Camp Smith is a state-of-the art 29,949-square-foot, LEED Platinum building located at Camp Smith, Hawaii. The facility is used by Marine Corps and Department of Defense personnel in Hawaii. D. L. Adams Associates (DLAA) assisted with the design of the AV systems, which included a six-zone, building-wide paging and background music system, classroom AV systems, two aerobic room AV systems, an in-house HDTV channel on a CATV system, the gymnasium sound reinforcement system, and entertainment integration to the exercise equipment in the fitness area. In addition, DLAA provided consultation and design services for the acoustics of the center and extensive analysis and design services for noise and vibration control of the mechanical systems. The $400,000 AV package was completed by the AV contractor as a fast-track project in just six months.
