Brandishing bright white and green jerseys, 12 members of the Adolfson & Peterson Construction family took on the Ragnar Relay Series in Colorado in August, finishing seventh out of 118 teams in their division.

Event proceeds went to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is focused on understanding, treating and defeating childhood cancer and other deadly diseases.

The 194.6-mile relay race started in Copper Mountain, looped down through Frisco to Breckenridge, turned around for the uphill grind back through Copper, up and over Vail Pass, then down through Vail, Avon and Eagle to Glenwood Springs, turning to go up through Gypsum and ending in Snowmass – all in 28 hours, 25 minutes and 37 seconds.

“You don’t realize how far that is until you’re driving back,” said A&P Virtual Construction Manager Nick Young.

Ragnar participants describe the race as somewhat of a slumber party without sleep, pillows or deodorant that brings people together to celebrate healthy living and having fun. There is no shortage of crazy costumes, inside jokes and elaborate van decorating, all for a good cause.
